Now, the whole unit seems to work in all other ways - the radio, CD and so on, just no sound. I asked the Ford service staff and they suggested that the unit could have been stuck in 'mute' after I have a Ford Mondeo (2008) and the stereo is not working properly. It is the 6000CD model. The display keeps saying 'PHONE' and there no other buttons work when its like that except the volume (not even the on/off button). The display and all the button apart from the on/volume are functioning, the display is blank but the unit is still connecting to bluetooth phone and I can still use the steering stalk to control the track etc. Step 4.
