What I need help with is identifying whether it is the fan motor, resistor pack, or feed that is at fault, or a combination of these. I have stripped out and removed the fan motor assembly and dried it out in the airing cupboard in the hope that this may resolve the problem. (the engine didn't stop, but it was shaking), The next message appeared on the dashboard with beeping: "Engine Fault: Repair Need" and in a few moments later " ESP/ASR System Faulty". (I though it was a consequence). Then I stopped the engine, later in a few hours and after more times restarting, the problem had disappeared itself. Using the snap on diagnostic machine its turns out there is another Ecu for the Diesel Additive in which the Tank needs coding though & also level codes were stored In the same ecu and need clearing. Once programmed correctly we were able to clear the codes in the main engine ECU. Ive put a Video together on the repair. Within a few hundred yards of leaving the petrol station the engine fault comes up on the media screen and service light stays on, after a couple of days it goes out but as soon as you fill up again on it comes.
